This is the front biography of the world-famous Russian writer, the author of The Gulag Archipelago and Nobel Prize winner Alexander Solzhenitsyn, with the exclusive materials about his way through the war. 24-year-old Aleksander was appointed the commander of a sound ranging unit in 1942 to participate in the battles of Orel and Kursk, for which he received battle honours and in 1944 he got arrested. For the first time the film unveils Solzhenitsyns war photos, the battle sites described by the writer in his short novels about war.
