The director of the new miniseries "Demons" has selected the actors who will play the main roles.

The classic drama "Demons" is one of the most anticipated screen adaptations of the novel by literary great Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It has been commissioned by TV Channel Russia and will be shot by Russian director Vladimir Khotinenko. After a long casting process, the names of the actors have now been revealed. The leading role of Nikolai Stavrogin is to be played by Maksim Matveyev, a young and talented theatre and film actor (previously seen in "Hipsters" and "August. Eighth"). The role of Pyotr Verkhovensky will be played by Anton Shagin.
